​​​Dr Michael W. Förster is an experimental petrologist. He received his PhD from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. His research interests include experiments on processes of element enrichment within Earth’s mantle using state-of-the-art high-pressure apparatuses.

Since November 2023 he is the lab manager of the spectroscopic facility at the Research School of Earth Sciences at the ANU in Canberra.
